Well, usually I do not write about my work or my students, but today, I just have to make an exception. Yesterday, classes started again and when I was just about to get ready for teaching, I got a new email.
One of my former students had remembered me and written me a message. He had stumbled across an old email I had sent him four (!) years ago.
I used to email my students their final grades and always included some nice words about how glad I was that I had them as my students and that I wished them all the best for the future.
Now, that he had graduated, he found that old email and just wanted to tell me how much he enjoyed my class. How sweet is that!!!
In addition to that, I picked up my evaluations from last semester and all of my students had written really nice things about me. What a great start into the new semester!
I am feeling so good - if I were feeling any better I would burst into a million pieces. :o)

How great to find you've made an impact on someone! That was really thoughtful of him to semail you to tell you that. Kinda makes me want to do more of that in my own life!
